not only does she have as much scrapbooking supplies as me (and maybe more..not much more though)
she has brilliant ideas.
I received a sketch this morning regarding the layout of my scraproom redo.
brilliant I tell you.
And she was willing to come back from the cottage early to help me..but I said NO (and she will be involved she's not getting out of it that easily. I don't need her for the packing up stuff..nope she gets to be there for the putting it away..)
But she is coming during the week so we can plan what I need to buy and where things will go..

I will say she did add a spot for herself to work at in my scrapbook room..hmm convenient I think..on her part..

So plans are in motion..building cabinets and cupboards are out..huge working space (5 x 7 to be exact) will be implemented..
thats all I can say..

and another reason I keep her around..she feeds me, drives me places..and is she is self proclaiming to be my conscience which is kinda scary in its self too..but I guess it's better than the one I currently have..lol

There are other reasons but those are the scrapbook related ones..

why does she keep me around..cause she knows in the event something happens to me she gets all my stuff..so everyone if I disappear mysteriously Jackie probably knocked me off for my scrapbook supplies..I'm just saying..

famous last words on my part..
ok this is the weekend before the long weekend.
Goal to start the scraproom reno the long weekend.
What has to be done prior to that.
Finish purging and cleaning the upstairs.
Well what is left upstairs..
Spare bedroom and living room (which has been a dumping ground for everything) and the sunroom.
Can I pull it off..I am sure a normal person can..me..Ms. Procrastination..well if I have a deadline I'm great at stuff like that..and since I have a dead line and would love to be able to scrap and see what I have then yeah I think I can.

So this weekend need to finish upstairs and then I can start boxing up all my scrapping stuff..and I am hoping to purge as I go too..the joys of buying a bunch of rubbermaids was brillant on my part. I'm going to approach this whole thing by the blog (it's listed on my blog list) "my love affair with a label maker"..that is the theory anyway.

But I will group like things together and put them all in one container so when I go to put them away I can just have one container..yay..also this way I can see how much I have of one thing when deciding on the storage method..and really how many cupboards I need..this is going to drive me nuts this whole process but it will be worth it.

Cornish Heritage Stamps are going out of business. Today is the last day to order and guarantee what you get..

Jackie and I had a little fun ordering last night..their 6x6 scrapblocks are awesome (already own two)...

Great quality product..it's to bad they are leaving..

BUT...I think I might have found a QK Silhouette...very excited..

Now my reno on my room is hopefully starting in two weeks..
I can't start it until I have upstairs of my house dealt with..but that is ever so much needed motivational push..lots of new stuff coming..orders have been made..can wait to actually use my stuff..not just look at it..

And I need to update my inventory list..

Hey anyone heard of Dreamweaver Stencils and paste..that is my new..hmmm..I'm trying that out thing..

After a long hiatus

I think I am almost back.

I have never STOPPED buying product..so I am still up to date on all the stuff...
I have now the resources and time and energy to do a complete overhaul and rebuild of my scraproom. (This is exciting)...

I will have counters and cupboards and funky colour painted walls.
I can build the scrapbook room of my dreams (or well what will fit in my 11 x 11 room.

My goal is in two weeks to start emptying my room and preparing to paint!!!!

I WANT TO SCRAPBOOK

I am so looking forward to getting back to my hobby..

I have not visited too many blogs recently and that is on my list..so too all my scrappy friends..I haven't forgotten about you I will go back and see all the work you have done.

I have lots of new techniques I want to try..I am hoping to start maybe posting a lot more frequently and well just getting creative and messy and dirty..

Scrapbook Store Road Trip

We are jumping in a vehicle and going all over the place to about I think 5 scrapbook stores. Shopping Shopping Shopping.

I am even considering getting a digital cutter system..QK's that is.
Something normal.

Scrapbooking after Death

Most of my followers know that Mason died.
And if not. Mason died. (My husband)

It has only been a couple weeks.
But I have had time to think of a lot of things. And one was Scrapbooking.

Initially I just thought about all the stuff in my scraproom and said I can never touch that stuff again.

Now I think what else can I do with my scrapbooking stuff...

And then I remembered why I initially got into scrapbooking for my family tree.
So now I will have lots of time to work on that and scrapbook the info.

Eventually I will scrapbook "us". Our wedding album was never complete. And one day I will have to do that.

I know I am just rambling.

Scrapbooking Resolutions

I think these are more attainable then the other ones that we make at New Year's.

I have a couple soooo far..And this list can be ammended and changed as necessary.

1. Visit my blogs lists more and post some comments.
2. Post more on my own blogs.
3. FINISH MY SCRAPROOM.
4. With number 3 done I will be able to scrapbook more.
5. Stamp off all my images into a binder to make an inventory of my stamps.
6. Update my idea binder.
7. Try out some techniques
8. Try to scrapbook during the week. (again with No. 3 done I can)
9. Put together page kits.

Wow..I thought there would be less of them.

I have the quickutz santa that was release last year.

I just flocked his hat and coat. Still drying.
I flower soft his beard.

I also tried his coat with flowersoft.

So what I have used this weekend.

I used some new stamps..or stamps that I have had for awhile but never used before.
I used my copics.
I used flowersoft
I used flock!!!

Finished all the pages in one book they are not prettied up yet

Still can't get over the flock.

I used my Stix2 glue spread it out with my finger and flocked away.

So I got some stuff together today.
Funny I thought I owned a Quickutz die in the shape of a wreath..yeah I don't. I was sure I did. But I don't.

The idea's I had for my books completely went out the window. I tried to cover one in fabric..so I wasted a lot of time on that. Didn't turn out the way I wanted to so I went with the ole fashioned cover with paper method.

I have the bare minimum done on one book. It needs to be made pretty still but I made good progress..

Of course I did not scrapbook in my room I worked on the coffee table which is really somewhat a pain.

When I pretty up the pages I will post pics.

I hope to work on it more tomorrow.

It's been a long time..scrapbooking goals

I honestly don’t remembered the last time I actually scrapbooked.
And to me scrapbook includes: cards, stamping, altering..etc..if I touch my scrapbook tools for it..I am scrapbooking..
Really I don’t. I am on this domestic goof wife kick right now which has even freaked out my husband. Yeah. I think it is my way of procrastinating on finishing up in my scrapbook room. My room is scrapable so no real reason not to scrapbook in there. And when in doubt I can do it at the coffee table if I really want to or feel I can't work in there.

I do have stuff that I have to start and get working on.

I am doing a mini swap with my friends Tamara and Michele. We are each making 1 T’was the Night Before Christmas book and a Christmas Carol book. Each person will receive one of each. Easy enough.

Well Tamara the show off if pretty much done her one book and is well on the way with her other one.

Michele and me..not so much. Technically we agreed to mail them the first week of December..one has to go to Alberta the other to Nova Scotia..for me anyway..so I need to get my ass in gear and start them.

I have fabulous ideas for each. I was a little stuck on the Christmas Carol book and then it finally came to me the idea for it..so shouldn’t be a problem.

There was no particular style that you had to use do what you feel comfortable doing. The only idea behind it was that it wouldn’t cost much to mail it and it would fit in a regular envelope.

I have a lot of Christmas scrapbooking stuff..so my plan is to actually utilize some of it.
I would like to try out some new techniques and such as well.

I have collected a nice allotment of Flower Soft and flock..etc..
New QK dies or well not new but never used..

So my scrapbook goals for the weekend: (in no particular order)
- Get the covers done for each of the books that I am making
- Pick out the supplies and determine the size of the books
- Use some stash
- Try some new techniques
- And just create something..anything
- oh if I get stumped I could make a couple Christmas Cards I definitely need 4.

So that is my plan. I am not leaving the house this weekend only to go to the grocery store so I will have lots of time.

The moment of horror

2 weeks ago when I was organizing my scraproom it was about oh hour 8 of continuous organizing I had a moment.

I stood in the middle of my scraproom and just look around thinking it's not going to fit. Where am I going to put everything. I think I almost had a panic attack.
I was ready to sit on the floor and start rocking back and forth..I am serious it was that bad. Then....yes then...I took a deep breath and I got over it..it was still in the back of my mind though but I pushed on and made progress.

When I was working on Jackie's nook. I told her about my moment. I said she would have that moment too. Accept I had it for her. Then she had it..oh not a good feeling. At this point we both just laid on the floor from exhaustion and just the OMG factor of it all. Jackie was laying under one of the 8ft long folding tables that house all the stuff we were trying to put into her nook. But after some vision and such..it worked out.

I am so frustrated at this point with the room. There isn't much left to do, there really isn't. My problem before was I had no idea where to store certain embellishments now I have a place thanks to the punch storage.

It will be so worth it once it is all done. It is just getting to that point. I dislike going in there, I am so frustrated that I can't scrap when I want to. (yes my room is scrapable but I would like it finished before I start to make a mess in there). I have two projects that need to be completed in the next couple weeks. I need to think of stuff for Christmas. And of course I have the urge to scrap when it is impossible for me to do so.

I have been invited to a house crop the last Sunday in November but again don't have to take a lot of stuff and hopefully I will have something put together I can just take that and be okay with it. We really won't end up scrapbooking much anyway because we will just be chatting away.

My QK Cookie Cutter Storage

I saw this on a You Tube video..and when I found the container I was so excited. It works for me, everything is together. It holds my embossing folders as well..and it freed up my QK magnetic folders for my Nestabilities..

I used QK magnetic sheets (I was able to locate more at Business Depot in 8.5 x 11 sheets) but it was a feat to find something like that. I had the whole company that I work for looking for magnetic sheets. The boss was looking..I figure the whole venture cost about $10,000..I mean I went places, the boss went places, phone calls were made, Jackie phoned people, Jackie had her husband searching..it was crazy..and in the end I had enough QK magnectic sheets to do the trick. And conveiently they are sticky backed so I was able to just stick cardstock to the back.

my new racking

I purchased some racking from my LSS before it closed..and I can't believe how much stuff it holds. It is really making more room for other things..which is a good thing because I have a lot of things.

In the wire rack (it is actually from Ranger to hold the crackle paint) I have now added: Flower Soft, embossing powders, perfect pearls and pearl ex..
I have freed up a lot of room and containers. So now when I get to my stamp storage and sorting I won't have to get more containers.

My Scraproom Clean Up Part 1

Is it wrong to say that I am happy I won't be travelling so much with my scrapbook supplies. Is it wrong I am kinda happy that I won't be spending so much any more..I sure hope not.

I just want to create something and I am unable to do that right now.

But I have the first plan of action done. It is on my Practical Life blog

Sad part is this is the easy part. Part 1.
Part 2..I haven't figured out yet.
Which is kinda scary.

Argh it's starting again

I really didn't know which blog to put this on..this one or my other one which is by the way The Practical Life anyway.

Since my LSS officially closes tomorrow I will not be as mobile as I used to be. Which in a sense might be better for me. My stuff can have a permanent home.

Now I will be going to Jackie's to scrap. Jackie will be coming here as well..but....now I won't have to take all my stuff with me because Jackie's stuff is all at her house now. So I will just have to take my tool tote and page kits and just special tools and or dies..

So now I have a couple problems. I have to store all my stuff that I tote everything around with..my rolling tote..my creative options totes..etc..I will still need them just not as often. And stuff doesn't need to be stored in there either.

My stuff can have a permenant home in my scraproom..

And my stash has gotten bigger..much much much bigger recently.

So Jackie is in the same boat as me and we were discussing our organizing options.
It is such a daunting task. I would really like to do it right this time. I would really like for this time to be "the time"...I takes so much work to haul things out and such and put it back..and it doesn't help that my husband wants as he calls it "my crap" at of the living room..or he calls it my Crafty McCrafter's Crap..

So my other blog (as previously mentioned) will have my plan of action.

My problems are what do I need to make my area work for me.
And I don't know anymore.

So I have 2 nights to figure out how to tackle my "room" and 1 night and 2 days to execute it, or the majority of it.

I need to be able to actually scrapbook soon.
there for need an area to do that in and be able to locate and find my stuff!!!

Scrapbooking at a cottage

And this was the place we went to. Beatles weekend on the radio..My Birthday Scrapbook Weekend at Jackie's Cottage.. It was a great time.

You know it's a good thing Jackie has a truck or we would not be able to do these things..Funny we almost didn't have room for food.

Funny I didn't take a pic of my work area..only Jackie's. And this was the cleanest either of our areas was.

How peaceful is that. Other than the fact that it went down to zero at night and there is NO insulation in the cottage and NO heat at all..the industrial size bag of mini rolo's in the freezer made up for it. And funny thing you learn. If you actually sleep in the sleeping bag and not use it as a blanket..it is warmer.

But I look forward to doing it again next year.

Once last date

So went to the store last night. Saw a couple more people and said farewell for now.
Gave out my blog to a lot of people.

Jackie and I ordered for one last time a #2 from the Chinese Restaurant. It was good. Always so much food..so I packaged it up to take home for Mason to have lunch today..put it on the hood of my car..Lets just say it never made it. Neither did Jackie's can of diet Coke..so complete meal was lost on the road.

So we closed the doors once last time together. (Store is still open) but I won't be back..

My LSS is Closing

The place I love, my sanctuary, my second home, my get-away..my a lot of things is closing.

The announcement was made last night. (Sunday)

I am very sad.

I put in about 25 hours from Friday - Sunday to help Jackie get ready for today's starting sale. I am working tonite the cash to help out my friend.

I am going to miss a few people. I am going to miss just a place to hang out. I am going to miss being able to order anything.

I have had such a great time there. I have learned sooo much from doing R & D weekends, experimenting and just trying stuff out. I will miss that a lot as well..AND I even learned how to share, or with certain people anyway.

When I left on Sunday night the store was 100% full with product. When I got to the store on Monday night at 5pm it was half empty. It was unbelievable how much was gone.

I said goodbye to a few people last night. Gave out my email and blog to a few people and I truly hope to hear from them.

I have been going to the Scrapbook Academy since December 2007. I am sorry that it is no more but I am glad it was for that time.

Jackie, my friend. Thank you. You accomplished a lot with what you had to work with. You sacrificed a lot with your family and home life. You learned a lot too. And I don't know how you kept your sanity with all the wackiness you had to put up with. You have unbelievable patience and I admire you for that. We can work on the paranoia later :)

You are very talented and I hope you do continue to teach.

Jackie you are my Scrapbooking Hero for the month of October. (Just so you know..My title of Scrapbooking Hero is usually a daily thing)

Finally Did Something

And I did a few things too!!!
So here are some of them.

And this is what I made for Mason..He loved it. Very simple. It is on a canvas from a dollar store. And just done as simply as it is.

Okay I have the complete set of alcohol inks..all the colours..and I don't use them enough..but thanks to Jennifer McGuire's Thinking Ink..I learned a few things. First off I used Canon 4x6 photo paper for this..worked well..I like it and it is the perfect size for cards. I used the technique that Jennifer did with running the ink in lines on the felt pad then applying them on the page (hence the streak effect) I like it. The stamp is from the Mike's collection of Tim Holtz stamps.

This is what I did for my Neighbor. He is a single dad. Lots of techniques in there..A lot. I used all Ranger product for this. The Barb wire Masks (I thought I would never use but loved the other boarders) oh I lied I used Color Box Charcoal Chalk ink on the sides with the masks. Grunge board with the wings and skull..Stickled the "Scrapbook" and "Can" is embossed with Harmonie embossing powder..it is such an amazing product!.

Scrapbooking Goals for the weekend

Pop can's and Alcohol Inks

My recycling is going to go down..cause I will be stealing the popcans to make things and embellishments..going to start having to get some tall boys too..cause they have bigger pieces of metal...This is my favourite one. I embossed it with the textured textile cuttlebug folder. (Really love this design) I inked and sanded, inked again and only sanded in certain areas. I am thinking card backgrounds..have another couple ideas too..but ran out of popcans this weekend.

These two I just embossed coloured..sanded..coloured again sanded a little more and voila..two toned metal. I was running out of popcans so was limited on sizes.

This was my original sample that I did. I just alcohol inked it and sanded the odd flower.

I was able to cut the pop can with my Epic 6..you can't emboss though and cut..just shreds the pop can.

Retreat pics

Now remember we had store stuff too..plus our stuff..there was barely room for us..oh and we had our cloths and sleeping stuff too..it was a lot of stuff.

Pop can

So I know I saw something somewhere on the net about taking a pop can and turning it into something scrapbooking related.

Well yesterday while taking out the recycling I decided to try it. I used the can opener to take off the top and then used kitchen shears to cut the remaining. YOU MUST BE VERY CAREFUL AS THE ALUMINUM IS VERY SHARP!!

Anyway I decided why not put it thru my revolution so picked the first embossing folder I found and sure enough it worked. Went thru very easily and worked out well..but for safety reasons I decided to fold over the edges and that is what I came up with. Perfect for alcohol inking etc.

I am so close to being done. This is what I was up against and I had already spent time in there. I just took a box at a time and put things away. It was a long process. So much stuff..but all necessary. Everything is labeled and sorted. There is some tweaking. I still have to go thru the two closets in the room..(non-scrapbooking stuff is kept in there) I am hoping to be able to purge some stuff from there as well maybe make more room for scrapping stuff. All that is left is two boxes of stuff to go thru and my workspace. I still have to do my paper which will be an ongoing thing and my metal embellishment. I don't think it will take to long to finish. I am hoping to finish it tonite when I get home from my grandpa's..Oh today is his birthday!! He is 81 and still amazing. I am taking dinner up there and cooking..I wonder if he remembers how messy a cook I really am..I offered to take him and his girlfriend out for dinner..he said no..he might regret that later..Anyway..if Mas doesn't take the camera with him to the cottage I will have finished product pics tomorrow..and hopefully some new creations post..

So all my rubons (I love rubbons) and other packaged embellishments (other than metal) are just in containers..well I do have a great memory and generally do know what I have..but all these containers were hard to store and with my ever increasing stash I needed a better way. Well I am not getting a clip it up..cause well that takes space too..so I made one that would work with what I got. It isn't perfect it does have flaws but it will work for me. I bought two hooks some cord (just thick string..close to rope and bought two packages of 3/4 inch binder clips..I have 144 binder clips..not all of them are up..but I think close to hundred are..it is heavy after you get it up there and adding more binder clips to it after the fact is a pain. I think I will get another hook to hold it in the middle and there is no order to them being hung..I did clip doubles together too..so if I had 2 or 3 packages of the same rubon I did clip them on the same hook..now they are visible and accessbile..

So when we moved into our house in the sunroom there was this make shift fold out table it is absolutely fugly and useless to us so we removed it probably 6 or 7 years ago. (we have been here for 7 years this year) anyway so it's been in the shed, its been put out on garbage day (garbage men wouldn't even take it) it has been in the back of my car for about 2 months now for me to throw out in the bin at work..well I am so happy it didn't go. I do share my scraping area with some other storage things my old oak desk and just stuff..so since we don't use the Christmas stuff too much I thought to myself hey that table top counter thingy will fit there..it will I could utilize that space..so get it out of the car get it to the basement and realize..my desk has to move..so now my desk is not centered under the window..but I am okay with it..so here is what I did with it. This is all the stuff that I don't necessarily use all the time but it's out so I can see it and remember it's there..plus it got stuff being stored on the floor etc..

Scrap Goals for the Weekend

I went shopping and got some more great bins and other things to help me in my quest.

2. To get heritage class #3 done..

3. To do something for me..little ole me. Maybe something bright..maybe something outside my style..
3a. to finish my LO that I started at the retreat..it's of my as a kid..I was so cute.
4. To stamp off some images

5. To use my new Quickutz Epic 6..now that I have trouble shooted the problem it is a great machine I love it and want to use it..plus I got some new cuttlebug embossing folders that I would love to try out.

6. Think of something to do with the Making Memories Vintage Findings collection of things I purchased..I love it is so me..

7. To nap when I want, to snack what I want..and hope I have 2 nights of me time..

The Quest continues

For ORGANIZATION...why does that always seem like a dirty word..
Well I spent the better part of today in my scraproom organizing. I took a lot of stuff out of the room and had it in the rec room while I was going thru stuff.

So I got this cubby hole thing from Zellers and it was so reduced it was awesome..only $21..and it was easy to assemble and it is sturdy..

I got the bins from Dollarama..and just started filling them up with stuff..I am considering getting a second unit..haven't decided 100% yet though.

So I have gotten my scraps all together as well..bought an expanding file folder and sorted them by colour and such..the thing weighs a tonne (metric tonne too)..but they are contained and I really need to start making cards. I purged them too and kept pieces only 3 x 3 and bigger.

Well I will keep it up..I hope to have it done by Saturday cause I have the weekend to myself looking forward to it..

Scrapbooking Organization!!

Almost seems like a bad word doesn't it...

Anyway..I am not even going to discuss the state of my room right now..or my stuff in general.

I need magic fairies to come in and just take over..not just my scrap room but the whole house.

This is when my pony tail comes in handy I can cross my arms and flip it around and blink..remind you of anything..I DREAM OF JEANNIE..ahh I love that show..
I wish I had her powers..I would use it all for good..I swear.

Anyway..babbling..

I found this great blog and the woman is doing a scrapbook organization challenge..great ideas on there..it's a 29 or 28 week thing..but great site..I have been on there for 3 days now..and I think I am actually motivated. She just has a different take on things that I have heard of in the past..anyway..

Just sharing the knowledge.

Playing with my new 7 Gypsies Binderie punch

Finally cracked (excuse the pun) my Picket Fence Crackle paint...Added a little Weathered Wood crackle on the top. I stamped "In the Garden" with Studio G font stamps..but to keep them even I spelled out the word and then used an elastic to keep them together, was definitely tricky but worth it.

RETREAT!!! I AM BACK

So Jackie and I went to the first scrapbooking retreat put on by the YWCA girls camp. After a few bumps in the road a GPS unit called Stella and realizing that hidden intersection signs really do mean hidden intersections..oh plus the moment Jackie reconsidered..and if she didn't we would be dead..we finally got there. Did I mention we took a truck and we couldn't get anything more into it even if we wanted to....

So we get there unload in a swarm of bugs. Get the store section set up get us set up and realize how tired we really are..but we pushed on and started scrapping.

So what did I do while there..well let me show you.

This is for Mason cause I can't go scrapbooking and come home without something for him..so this is what he got.

I painted a piece of chipboard with copper metallic paint..took my Tim Holtz distress hammer and beat it but good..then took black soot dristress ink and applied it with a stiple brush to make the pitted marks stand out a little.

The letters...ohh the letters..They are actually laser cut wood by a fantastic Canadian company..home grown that's right..Harmonie..which I just inked with some chalk ink.. so project #1 for show and tell complete.

moving on..

My first attempt at a tri-fold card..not sure how I like them yet or not. As Tammy said they are easy to make but interesting to embellish..I concur on that...yeah no spell check for me..so not sure which father will get this card..but Mason's or mine will. I will keep you posted..I know real cliff hanger..

Okay next..

This is something I made for my cousin who just obviously just had a baby...yay!! I know I did something baby related..

Well I the green paper I versamarked with stamp to create my own pattern paper. the bling accents on the bottom..All credit goes to Jackie on that one..great idea though..and the buttons on the left..are 4 buttons that I glued together..worked out I think..and well add a pic of a cute baby..and taa daaaaa..

And the other stuff..can't post..or not going to post..I will at a later time.

Mother's Day for my mom

So going to visit my mom tomorrow so made a card for her and her friend..

This is the card for my mother..again it flipped my pic on me for some reason..I used my Technique Tuesday stamp "double stamp" Two stepping in the garden..it's a fun set.

So it was one of those days. A long one too. Mason and I got home and I said I need beer and wings..so off to the pub we went..Had a burger instead of wings and what a great decision that was..it was the best burger I have ever had.

So we just got home Mason looks at me and says are you crafty mccraftering this weekend (hence where the name for the blog came from) and I said no. He said when do you plan on getting all your crap out of our living room (all the stuff I took to the crop) I said well I meant to tell you on Sunday that I wanted to leave it out of my office / scraproom until the weekend so I can go in there and finish cleaning it. He said your cleaning..then by all means leave it out.

So goal this weekend. Clean and organize the scraproom..which to me never seems to end. I really have to work on some stamp storage too..I see a Zellers trip in my near future to go get more containers..

I also need to start packing for the weekend retreat I am going on with Jackie to Camp Tapawingo..or something like that..it's a YWCA camp ground in Parrysound..last weekend in May looking forward to it. But I have to be somewhat organized for it.

Plus I need to print and or scan some pics..need to get on that..need to make page kits..time need and want..will power..time..a lot of excuses..

So this weekend is scraping clean up..

I need a tea.

National Scrapping Weekend and such

So really slacking in the checking everyone else's site..I will get there. I will post..I promise..
Mason is finally back to work this week. So I have to be a wife again..After I run home and take pics of the cards I made 13 in total..I have to run back out to the post office to mail them off to the MIL..my mom didn't get any..she can get flowers..easier.

So Friday night of the crop get there..was some what organized..I have to say going to the crop to make cards was a difficult packing decision. So I ended up taking a lot. I had an idea of what I wanted to do. I didn't know how many was going to make. I really did have my expectations set a little higher then the amount I ended up doing. So 13 were done. Not bad..couple of incidents a long the way but corrected them and it worked out beautifully.

So got to the LSS at 5pm got unloaded and set up..and just mellowed out for a moment. Plugged away at it. Met the people at my table very nice bunch. They had never been to a crop at the Academy. Of course the regular bunch was there as well..we had a great snack selection and such..good time all around. Left a little earlier on Friday than midnight but I had worked all day..etc. Got 7 cards done the first night..was impressed with my self. I helped a few people too..and I am sure I saw something shiny so that distracted me as well..Got a few new QK Embossing folders that night..they are so much fun..tried them out too..same size as the cuttlebug and really cheap too..so I think I got 8 of them..really happy.

So I get home and Mason says what'cha make me..I said nothing I am making your mother's mother's day present..he said well I want something.

Saturday I was up at the crack of dawn for some reason..so was at the store earlier..started right back at it by 9am. (great breakfast was served as well)..along with tea..ahhh tea..I could go for a tea right now. So I couldn't get into card mode so I started helping a lady out..and painted her "D" for her..it was a production and a half..I don't know why but it was..but it turned out very well in the end..then I decided to make something for Mason..will post..but I will say it is a little riske for some..all the ladies laughed when they saw it..and he of course loved it.
made another 6 cards and I don't know what else..

We got a great goody bag from the store..filled with a 12x12 chipboard set..paint, brushes, paper, flowers..etc..don't even remember what else was in there..then was the prize draw. I was 2 names away from winning the grand prize the new QK die cutting machine..but of course..someone pulled my name after I specifically told her not too..but won a great prize anyway..

Packed up to leave at 10pm wasn't going to stay until midnight but ended up staying and chatting was fun to do that.

Overall a great weekend.

And later this evening I will post my pics of my cards.

A few I am really impressed with. I incorporated material, buttons, stitching..used some old stash..wasn't too bad..

I had something new to post.
I am at the LSS a lot but mostly working there....demo day was this past weekend. Really cool stuff with Peel-off stickers and the uses there of..but no time for me. But I hope to use some of those techniques soon.

But the National Scrapbooking weekend is coming up and I hopefully will be at the crop and with that I will be scrapping..Mother's day is coming up so I figured I would make a card set for my MIL and my own mother. Until then I don't know when I will get the chance to scrap. :( but what are you going to do right..

Until then I have been going thru the web looking for inspiration and well getting ready for the crop. I picked out some paper tonite to make the cards with..tomorrow I hope to go thru my stamps.

OH I signed up for 2 more Vicki Boutin classes..on June 13th I will be spending the day with her..she is a great teacher. Can't wait.

Health & Safety Tips..
(needed a moment away from work so came up with this...) my favourites are bolded.

1. Don't lick or chew on walls (this should include fences as well as they are made with pressure treated wood)

2. Don't stick things in your eyes..

3. Your nose is not a pocket

4. Do not put a plastic bag over your head and then tie it shut..not a good rain hat this way..unless you cut eye holes..oh might also lead to suffocation.

5. Do not stick your head in a 5 gallon (or 20 L ) bucket that is full of water.

6. Do not cross the highway on foot..especially during non-rush hours (cars are actually moving at this point)

7. if the dog won't eat..you shouldn’t either

8. If it glows really isn't a good idea to hang around

9. If you poke something with a stick and it goes to poke back..wasn't a good idea in the first place.

10. do not smoke while applying hairspray

11. no appliance no matter how time saving should be used in the shower or tub.

12. do not lick electrical sockets or stick things in there.

13..personal favourite had the experience too..do not stick your finger in a light socket..you will get shocked..that freakin' hurt.

14. DO NOT WEAR a necktie while shreadding..especially if you feel the need to get really close to the hopper and watch your material go thru.

15.. always put a lid on the blender before you turn it on..more a messy thing then safety..but something might get in your eye..

16..personal experience again...always where rubber gloves when cutting jalapenos..

17. Bears are not cute and cuddly..they are wild animals..do not attempt to pet them (I don’t like bears I had 2 bad experiences)..

18. mushrooms are not all magic

19. That stranger better be offering some pretty good candy to make me get in the car.

20. You wake up in a bathtub full of ice check to make sure they used surgical string to sew you back up. (cause your more than likely missing a kidney..) if your lucky you will be able to buy your own one back

First Wedding LO

well what's it been..just over 2 years..and I am finally doing a wedding LO..

It took me less than five minutes to put the LO together and over 2 hours to do the lacing..still haven't stuck anything done yet..

NO techiques in this one either..what is happening to me.

The vellum is actually silvery..but I guess with the flash and the red paper behind it looks pinkish.

So I had some goals..to use flowers, buttons..and fabric..I did..

I use the fabric (a velvety material) as the photo mat. I got out my Making Memories and Basic Grey buttons and my new Prima flowers..

The little letters are from a friend..Paola..

Look what happens when I get home early

Well the boss let me go early today..so I came home and decided to work on my scraproom a little more..I was missing a set of my Sakura pens and well finally found them..they were in my stamp box..so then I decided well I am going to try flocking..cause flock was my word of the day..so got out my ranger embossing pad and thought I try that to flock..well flock that do you think it worked..not so much..so then I thought I would try my stik2 glue...after a half hour of looking for it..it has been determined that my wonderful (currently staying at home until later this month--when he finally gets called back to work) husband has moved it from it's last location..I cannot find it..so then I decided I will play with my new House Mouse stamps..I coloured them with my 3 sets of watercolour pencils..and what did I learn..even though I have 3 sets (different makes) and about 96 different ones..I still don't have enough colours..but this is what I came up with..used my handy dandy blender pen..which is supposedly refillable..(yeah..no it really isn't..if you can get the lid off without going to the dentist after then you got a good one)..anyway..so 2 stamps later..(not killed on the colouring of the sitting bear's nose..but first attempt)

So after all that fun..I thought hey I just watched Tim Holtz's new demos..I have a can of compressed air..(and do you think I could find the red nozzle plastic thingy..it must be with my stix2 glue) I came up with this..did this on an acrylic tag with my alcohol inks..now I think in his demo he used the new Bright colour sets..which I have yet to get my hands on..but I am told soon I will

So that fun was out of the way..and yes I continued..I know..I was shocked too..I spent about 4 hours in my scraproom..and really accomplished nothing..

So last thing I did while in there...I played with my peel off stickers and sakura pens..why not right..I had found the missing package..and as you know (or those who know me.) I love penguins..so shockingly I coloured penguins..

SO scrapbooking is possible during the work week..scrapbooking is possible at home..and well now I am tired and I must go watch CSI...and clean my hands...

I started this project recently. I made one for my mom last year for mother's day...so I thought I'd make one for me. So this is my first page.. using some of that amazing 6x6 black chipboard..October afternoon paper and my favourite thing..metal..I love metal..metal metal metal..I have a lot of metal..which makes my stuff HEAVY..carrying it..etc..And I love Rub-ons..okay I love a lot of things..but metal and rub-ons are at the top of the list..I tried to colour the rub-on with Distress Ink (I inked the grid so it wasn't SO white) but it didn't take..

I have a lot of scrapbooking supplies, materials, stuff..way too much stuff..I love my stuff though..but I have a fear of using it..I keep saving that embellishment, that piece of paper for the perfect thing..but nothing will ever live up to the pedastal that I put that item on..I NEED to get past that..I need to start using stuff..knowing that it will be fine..it will be safe..on what ever I put it on..So another thing to add to the goal list..USE my stash..

So this is one of my books..made from chipboard and modge podge..80 pages in total..all hand stitched..they are a fair amount of work..but in the end they are fantastic..I really need to get back into making these..have about 8 of them that need to be finished and sent out..all mostly done..just need final assembly..another to put on the goal list..and a few that haven't been started that really need to be.

My Next Scrapping Goals

Wow was I cute..yeah I can say that..most people that know me..will not think I could have ever been that innocent..ever..

So my next goal is to actually scrap like most people do..non-heritage..non-vintage..just a LO..but hey I think this is 1979..so might be a little retro..

Can't help it got to post another pic of me..

I have a huge collection of Making Memories flowers..I love them..and I was just told that a new shipment of Prima's just came into my LSS and that a couple of the packages will be a must have for me..but I have NEVER used any flowers in anything that I have done for me..so flowers and buttons..

I have recently printed off from manufacturers websites lists of their product so I can check off what I have..I actually did pretty good and only have a couple doubles of ink and paint..

Oh and last goal is to learn how to embossing..there has been many an incidents with me embossing..some R&D at the LSS have gone terribly wrong..I am still finding embossing powder in places..I really like the effect of embossing..I really want to be able to do it..why won't it work for me..and when people try to show me..for some reason it doesn't work for them either..I am cursed.

No matter how many pics I take in so many different ways I can't get rid of the glare..

So..this was done with Ranger product..and I used a cuttlebug embossing folder in my Revolution..and it worked..the bottom right hand corner is inking the embossing folder and just pressing in on the paper..

That is my Great Great Uncle..it was a post card that he sent while at training camp in WWI..just before he died.

This LO took 4-6 hours..did it at a crop..Still not liking all this stuff together..but it was a technique page I did..I just wanted to see all the different stuff I could do..which confusses the other croppers..

My chipboard

I love chipboard I like making things with chipboard..If I can think it..I am pretty sure I can make it with chipboard..

I have tons of naked chipboard..I have 75 pieces of 6x6 black chipboard..I just realized how many packages I had of it..but it is such a great product..it is black thru out..and 25 sheets for $9..and they might not be making it anymore..so I had to stock up...

So in my chipboard making experiences..I came up with my cardfolio..I got the idea from TV Weekly which it is just ashame that they are no longer with us..but I changed up their formula a little..

They are sooooo easy to make..Modge Podge is the only way to adhere paper to chipboard when making something structural..

We are scrappable

I have spent part of the day putting away my materials from the last time I was at a crop..So if I chose too I could go into my room and actually scrapbook..but well the desire has gone..Sunday is suppose to be relaxing day..and being 5:10pm..I have decided that I will not be doing anything else today except relax.

And well add more stuff to my blog.

So since I have a great LSS..again gonna do the plug..(and yeah Jackie I already know what your gonna say..I don't get a discount..I try all the time..if I open a package and then try to purchase it..she won't give me a discount..if I drop product on the floor and try to purchase it I don't get a discount..if I use a product and then purchase it..I don't get a discount..)

So anyway..since I have a great LSS..I have a couple things posted in there..this one is in the Ranger section..big surprise..cause I have every Ranger product out there..

This was my first attempt at ironing paper..I crumpled the whole paper..ran my Old Paper Distress ink over it and then...spritz with water and got out my little craft iron and ironed it flat.

I used Ranger's Memory glass in the film strip..and if you look closely at the bottom pic in the film strip you will see that my great grandmother..(aka..Lovica) is holding a stuffed dog..all that have examined the pic are pretty sure that it isn't a real dog..

This one is right behind the cash desk..I mean everyone gets to see it..and in my opinion it's the best LO in the store..except..for the Bucket List..

So I had just gotten some new stamps when I did this LO and had some fun with it..once again started with white cardstock and coloured the paper..

That is my grandma in the pic and a letter that her grandfather wrote to her.

It is what I call a "Ranger Product" LO..I LOVE Ranger products...

I did this LO of my grandparents (actually I created it at home and not at a crop)

SO started with White Bazzil..coloured it all with Scattered Straw & Old Paper distress inks..crumpled the corners..inked with Weather Wood..and then used Re-inkers (Old Paper) and a waterbrush and added some watermarks.

I used my newest punch by Fiskars to create the filmstrip look..and

title..1943 is Basic Grey Chipboard Numbers..I coloured in Broken China and then covered in Crackle Accents..
